Job Description
We are looking for an engineer with significant hands-on experience in AC, refrigeration or wider HVAC systems, who is confident working independently in a mobile capacity and comfortable following strict Health & Safety procedures.
You will also provide support with general building services maintenance as required.
Key Responsibilities
1. Deliver AC and refrigeration-biased PPM, reactive and proactive maintenance tasks within agreed SLA timeframes.
2. Diagnose, repair, modify and install refrigeration and AC equipment, including compressors, chillers and system controls.
3. Conduct regular preventive maintenance inspections and carry out necessary adjustments or repairs.
4. Replace or repair defective parts in AC/refrigeration units, including thermostats, automatic switches, relays, fans, belts and valves.
5. Install, rebuild or repair equipment such as fans, motors, filters, controls, bearings, gaskets and valves as required.
6. Complete other building services maintenance tasks, including fabric, HVAC and mechanical works.
7. Follow strict Health & Safety procedures, including the completion of risk assessments and method statements.
8. Work effectively within FM/commercial building environments, providing excellent customer service at all times.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
9. Significant experience in air conditioning, refrigeration or HVAC-related maintenance, including fault finding and installation.
10. Strong background in PPM and reactive building services maintenance.
11. Experience working within FM or commercial property environments.
12. Proven ability to work safely under risk assessments and method statements.
13. City & Guilds 2079 Safe Handling of Refrigerants or CITB J11 equivalent, AND one of the following:
14. NVQ 2/3 / City & Guilds in Commercial Refrigeration & AC Systems, OR
15. NVQ 2/3 or City & Guilds in Heating & Ventilation, OR
16. NVQ 2/3 / City & Guilds in Heating & Ventilation Service & Maintenance.
17. Full UK driving licence (mobile role).
