We are looking for a Repair & Maintenance People Supervisor to join Thames Water permanently.
This role will be on a shift pattern including some weekend working, and late nights, averaging 45 hours per week. Flexibility to undertake overtime during peak demand is essential, but of course, we know your work/life balance is important so being flexible works both ways.
You would be leading, coaching and developing around six R&M teams (both direct and indirect) to make repairs or enhance the water network, maintaining very high water quality standards and never compromising the health and safety of our people or our customers.
You would be someone who can get the best out of people, helping them deliver their targets to a very high quality.
What will you be doing as a Repair & Maintenance People Supervisor
1. Manage operational frontline teams for repair and maintenance activities, with a strong focus on health & safety and quality standards.
2. Have a good understanding of water networks.
3. Utilise analytical and problem-solving skills in high-pressure environments.
4. Engage with customers, councils and wider stakeholder relationships to help work get delivered on time with minimal disruption.
5. Champion change through a passion for continuous improvement, promoting best practice ways of working and sharing local knowledge.
6. Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills to coach and optimise the performance of your frontline teams.
7. Effectively manage operational risk through engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
8. Be IT literate, as all repair and maintenance work is managed electronically.
What should you bring to the role?
9. Full UK Driving Licence.
10. EUSR Water Hygiene.
11. Street works qualified. (NRSWA)/SMSTS)
12. Service Avoidance L2.
13. First aid qualified.
14. Asbestos and COSHH awareness.
15. Abrasive wheels would be beneficial.
16. Manual handling training would be beneficial.
17. Confined space awareness would be beneficial.
