Overview
Consultant Radiologist with Specialist Interests in Head & Neck Radiology (10 PA's) – replacement post due to retirement. In addition to sub-specialty radiology interests, the candidate must possess cross-sectional skills applicable to a general department. The post is full time but part-time applications are encouraged. The post includes participation in the evening and weekend and on-call rota. Outsourcing is used for most cross-sectional emergency work performed after 2000, seven days a week.
Main duties of the job
The role includes a significant subspecialty imaging requirement with the expectation to contribute to and advance Head & Neck/ENT/Maxillofacial radiology and to link with the regional Head & Neck cancer service. Neuroradiology is a growth area; the appointee should contribute to and drive the acute and elective neuro-radiology service provision. The post holder will support in subspecialty radiology meetings and work closely with RUH neurologists and stroke physicians. There is also an expectation to maintain general radiology duties appropriate to a district general hospital.

Person Specification
Qualifications: Essential
* GMC recognised general medical qualification
* Full GMC registration with a licence to practice
* FRCR
* Be on the Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCT at time of interview
Skills: Essential
* Fully accredited clinical radiologist on GMC specialist register
* Head and Neck/ENT Radiology subspecialty training
* Current general radiological practice and ability appropriate to a district general hospital environment
* Fully motivated in contributing to general and specialised work in the department and in maintaining a high standard of personal development
Desirable
* Experience of dental radiology
* Second specialty interested (Neuroradiology preferred)
