Designated Safeguarding Lead – Social Worker

Job Overview
As the Designated Safeguarding Lead, you will assess the social care needs of young people and deliver a quality social work service in line with patient care plans. You will work with individuals facing complex mental and psychological health needs, and will lead the social work department, managing and supervising staff while contributing to service-level documents and safeguarding procedures.
Responsibilities
* Assess and support the social care needs of young people
* Provide high‑quality social work services as outlined in patient care plans
* Work with young people with complex mental and psychological health needs
* Manage and supervise social work staff
* Lead the development, management and quality assurance of the social work department
* Contribute to CPA documents, maintain family contact and promote anti‑discriminatory practice
* Complete administrative tasks related to staff leave and sickness
Qualifications
* Qualified Social Worker with at least four (4) years post‑qualification experience
* Strong understanding of social policy and contemporary social work practice
* Demonstrated ability to manage a multidisciplinary team
Additional Requirements
* All staff must undergo a DBS disclosure check
* Demonstrated commitment to safeguarding service users
