About the role
Bury Council’s Adult Learning Service is seeking to recruit a Learning Support & Volunteer Coordinator. Promoting adult learning is at the heart of Bury’s LET’S Do It! 2030 Strategy, which is an ambitious vision for delivering inclusive economic growth and reducing the levels of deprivation across the borough.
Joining the Learning Support team will give you the opportunity to coordinate the learning support staff which will enable learners with disabilities and/or learning difficulties achieve their learning goals. You will also be responsible for recruiting, training and allocating volunteers into classes within the Service.
We are looking for someone with an understanding of supporting people with disabilities and/or learning difficulties in an educational setting or similar environment.
The ideal candidate will embody our LET’S Do It! values and will support putting learners at the centre of sharing in the success of our exciting plans to deliver excellent adult education for all the communities of our borough.
The post is for 18.5 hours per week but there may be an opportunity to increase these hours by taking on additional Learning Support duties within the classroom, depending on Service requirements.
