Role Overview;
We are seeking an enthusiastic and forward-thinking CDD Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part supporting the onboarding of our SME loan customers as well as our retail direct savings customers. Your role will take advantage of best in class technology to support you in your role and allow you individually the autonomy and freedom to challenge existing business processes to enhance our risk management, financial crime prevention controls, operational resilience and crucially the customer experience.
You'll need to be flexible in your approach and comfortable in undertaking a broad range of activities. This means not limiting your time and focus on one element of your role. And you'll be a driving force for new ideas on improving processes and exceeding customer expectations.
What you'll do
* Work for a new to market Bank start up that utilises best in class cloud based technology to support great people in facilitating excellent customer outcomes.
* Provide leadership and create a strong and effective First Line of Defence across all areas of lending customer due diligence, working closely with our lending teams and financial crime team helping to achieve our lending ambitions whilst ensuring risks are appropriately managed.
* Review Know Your Customer / Know Your Business and due diligence information prepared by Business Development Team, reviewing and assessing the checks performed in the customer risk assessment to ensure we are preventing financial crime.
* Ensure robust due diligence across a variety of business entity types and clients that may include complex structures. Identifying where there may be high risk companies and / or individuals, identifying politically exposed persons, screening sanctions lists and identifying cases of fraud or adverse media reports.
* Be responsible for delivery, quality control and performance of commercial lending due diligence in the 1st line.
* Be responsible for quality control over the automated "straight-through" processing of the KYC / ID&V undertaken in the Bank's direct savings customer onboarding.
* Risk management; regular review / update of Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and where needed Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) and performing other ongoing monitoring processes through the customer life cycle.
* Produce, monitor, analyse and present Management Information for Service Level Agreements and Key Risk Indicators in relation to Customer Due Diligence (CDD)
* Be a mentor / subject matter expert for the Operations and Commercial team/s to support colleagues across the team with development of financial crime and customer due diligence skills
* Follow processes and guidelines that fall in line with the company and FCA / PRA regulations.
* Stay up to date regarding a company's products, services and policies.
About you

* Minimum 3 years experience as a KYC Analyst, CDD Analyst, CDD Specialist or equivalent required for this role.
* A robust knowledge of financial crime rules and regulations
* Previous financial services background is essential.
* A real positive if you have previous experience working with commercial lending products and SME customer onboarding.
* A high attention to detail.
* The ability to deal with a varying range of tasks and manage priorities accordingly.
* Proven experience working as part of a team.
* Excellent time management and organisational skill.
* Efficient administrative skills.
* Competent numeracy, literacy, and IT skills.
* Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
* Experience in financial crime tools for example Lexis Nexis, Equifax, Dow Jones, CIFAS etc desirable
* A proactive attitude, and enthusiastic.
