The Commercial Assurance and Framework Management Team provides country-wide support to our Integrated Delivery Management teams and wider Project Management community, championing effective governance and commercial assurance to achieve best value for money. You will develop strong internal and external relationships and become an expert on contractual and commercial interpretations within a high performing team.
Responsibilities
* Support the team overseeing the commercial governance of contracts with key consultancies and contractors – a vital role in project success and value for money.
* Help set up and manage pathfinder programmes to embed best practice and develop long-term collaborative partnerships.
* Collaborate with the CAFM team and national colleagues to provide governance and commercial assurance across delivery projects.
* Engage in incident response duties when required as part of Environment Agency responsibilities, contributing to community protection and environmental safeguarding.
* Develop excellent relationships internally and externally, and become an expert on contractual and commercial interpretations within a high-performing team.
Experience / Skills / Qualifications
* Essential: A-Level Qualifications, Level 3 Qualifications or equivalent.
* Skilled communicator with strong interpersonal and influencing abilities.
* Stakeholder management experience.
* Strong data and document management skills.
* Commercial acumen: ability to understand and analyse business situations, take proportionate risks, make informed decisions, and deliver value for money; demonstrate curiosity and drive.
* Administrative skills: strong organisation, ability to write minutes and draft reports.
* Willingness to shadow, undertake long-term professional qualifications (such as NEC training, CIPS), and ask questions to drive development.
* Interest in infrastructure, construction or environmental programmes.
* Desirable/Professional Requirements: Degree or equivalent professional qualification or experience.
* Working towards status with a recognised professional body such as ICE, CIWEM, APM, CIPS, or RICS.
* Formal training in contract management (e.g. NEC, Contract Management Capability Programme).
