Staff Nurse – Child and Adolescent Mental Health Unit

An exciting opportunity for a registered mental health or learning disability nurse within a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Unit. Mill Lodge provides specialised inpatient care for young people between the ages of 13 and 17 with a range of mental health difficulties.
Responsibilities
* Lead the day‑to‑day running of the unit, acting as a role model and supervising health care assistants.
* Ensure that care plans for young people and their families are carried out and evaluated in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
* Act as keyworker for a small number of young people, developing risk management, care and positive behaviour support plans and delivering daily interventions.
* Carry out medication rounds and facilitate NG feeding as per care plans.
* Support a team of experienced health care assistants and receive regular clinical supervision.
* Participate in shift coordination and leadership with support from the senior nursing team.
Qualifications
* Registered mental health or learning disability nurse, experienced in inpatient settings.
* Completed preceptorship or will be qualifying in 2025.
* Strong initiative, teamwork and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.

All nurses are trained in providing NG feeding as an intervention for young people and are also trained in trauma‑informed care and systemic family therapy.
