Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated College SEN Assistant to provide support to disabled college students with profound and multiple learning difficulties, physical disabilities, and special educational needs.
The role and opportunity
6.5 hours per day, 8:30-3:30 each day (or chance of 9-4 if needed).
Students have profound and multiple learning difficulties, SLD, and severe autism. They focus on life skills more than academic courses, such as creating items & selling them to the local community, gardening, home maintenance, shopping, and basic maths/english in real-life scenarios.
They can train staff up, and you do not need to have experience, although it is extremely helpful if you do. Must be willing to support young people with complex needs.
The college is incredibly supportive, and you will work alongside several trained, experienced fellow learning support assistants.
The college also provides regular training, such as team teach, makaton, PECS, etc, so this is great for developing future skills and valuable knowledge.
This is a full-time position, working five days a week, but flexibility is available.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
