Full-Time Geography Teacher – Secondary School in Southampton, Hampshire

This full-time position is set to begin in October 2025, with flexibility depending on the availability of the successful candidate. The school is open to applications from both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced educators, offering a welcoming environment for professional growth.
Responsibilities of a Geography Teacher:
* Deliver engaging and thought-provoking Geography lessons that inspire curiosity about the world.
* Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the national curriculum and promote geographical literacy.
* Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support academic development.
* Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and confidence.
* Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to a dynamic and supportive school culture.
* Participate in school events and extracurricular activities related to Geography and the wider humanities curriculum.
* Promote critical thinking, environmental awareness among students.
* Stay current with curriculum developments and best practices in Geography education.
Required Qualifications for a Geography Teacher:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* A strong passion for Geography and education.
* Experience teaching Geography at the secondary level (ECTs are encouraged to apply).
* Ability to deliver engaging and innovative lessons that inspire students.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
* A commitment to fostering student achievement, curiosity, and well-being.
* A collaborative and proactive approach to working with colleagues.
* An up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years with no unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
