Job Title: DevOps and Infrastructure Engineer

About the Role
We are working with a leading vehicle security technology business who are seeking a DevOps & Infrastructure Engineer to join their team. This role blends modern DevOps practices with hands‑on systems administration, offering an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys managing cloud environments while also supporting internal IT systems.
You will take ownership of the cloud and virtualization infrastructure, VPNs, firewalls, and bare‑metal servers, while also collaborating with the software team to improve CI/CD pipelines, automation, and observability.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and maintain cloud infrastructure and bare‑metal servers, including disaster recovery planning.
* Administer and scale virtualization environments (Proxmox VE, Proxmox clusters, PBS).
* Configure and support VPNs (OpenVPN, WireGuard) and firewalls (OPNsense/pfSense).
* Contribute to GDPR and ISO27001 compliance, implementing security hardening measures.
* Administer Linux and Windows servers, including MySQL databases.
* Work closely with the software team to improve CI/CD pipelines and release cycles.
* Deploy, maintain, and optimise Docker‑based microservices.
* Troubleshoot production issues, ensuring uptime and documenting processes on the internal wiki.
* Automate deployments, testing processes, and infrastructure provisioning (Terraform, Ansible, GitHub Actions).
* Implement monitoring and observability solutions for proactive issue detection.
* Provide occasional support for internal IT infrastructure (e.g., laptops, printers, office networking).
* Occasionally maintain and support CMS platforms (Magento, Joomla, WordPress).
Experience Required
* Networking and routing expertise
* Bare‑metal server management & disaster recovery
* OPNsense / pfSense firewall management
* VPN configuration (OpenVPN, WireGuard)
* Authentik (SSO/identity management)
* Docker containerisation
* Python scripting for automation
* Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Pulumi, Ansible)
* Modern observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog)
* CI/CD pipeline management (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins)
* Firewall‑as‑a‑Service solutions (e.g., Cloudflare)
* Exposure to ML Ops (deployment, scaling, monitoring ML workflows)
