Senior Change Delivery Manager (Band 8a)

Job Summary
The Senior Change Delivery Manager will manage the Change Delivery Team and lead WAVE initiatives within the Reserves & Central and Corporate Divisions. Each Change Delivery Manager will be aligned to one or more divisions (Medicine, Surgery & Diagnostics, Women & Children) to lead 1 or 2 WAVE initiatives and provide governance and support for others. You will embed NHS Quality Improvement (QI) principles and work with PMO and business partners to ensure a unified approach to change across programmes.
Main duties
Support the Trust\'s Working to Achieve Value and Excellence (WAVE) programme. Provide transformation, improvement, change management and delivery support for your assigned division. Deliver governance and assurance to the WAVE Oversight & Assurance Group and own multiple Trust-wide initiatives. Integrate QI methodologies to drive measurable improvements and collaborate across digital transformation and Securing the Future (NHP) teams.
Responsibilities
* Change Delivery and Productivity: govern progress of initiatives, lead cross-cutting WAVE & WRP initiatives, develop divisional improvement plans, and collaborate with clinical, operational, finance and workforce teams to deliver measurable productivity improvements.
* Quality Improvement: embed QI principles (e.g., PDSA, process mapping, SPC), apply evidence-based methodologies, and coach divisional teams in QI techniques.
* Change Management: lead change strategies, secure stakeholder buy-in, apply methodologies (ADKAR, Kotter, DMAIC), and work with OD/EPR/StF teams to embed cultural change.
* Stakeholder Engagement: collaborate with divisional leadership, facilitate workshops and training, support planning for waste reduction initiatives, and liaise between division, finance, HR and informatics.
* Governance and Reporting: maintain documentation, monitor milestones and risks, share lessons, and develop plans, risk controls and toolkits.
* Data Analysis and Insights: develop KPIs, create dashboards, use benchmarking and trend analysis, prepare complex reports, and ensure data quality and robust analyses.
* Communication and Relationship Skills: develop communications strategies, negotiate with stakeholders, influence senior managers and clinicians, manage projects with clinical groups, and facilitate group discussions.
* Financial and Resource Management: define financial plans, maximise opportunities for quality and cost improvements, manage resources, and support innovative business cases for redesign using technology.
* Management and Leadership: lead the Change Delivery team and provide line management for Change Delivery Managers.
* Collaborative Working: engage with WYAAT partners to deliver high-quality care and drive change across organisations.
Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications
Essential
* Experience leading transformation and productivity initiatives in healthcare or a similar environment; capability to manage complex projects with multidisciplinary teams; strong data-driven decision-making.
* Strong data analysis skills with Excel, Power BI or Tableau; ability to communicate highly complex information; excellent interpersonal, negotiation and facilitation skills.
Desirable
* Advanced knowledge of healthcare performance metrics; understanding of NHS roles, structures and processes.
* Project Management Qualifications (PRINCE2, Agile Practitioner) and leadership qualifications (e.g., ILM 5).
Experience
* Proven track record in transformation and productivity initiatives; experience with service improvement/workforce redesign; experience managing a team.
* Desirable: experience in NHS/public sector; familiarity with Management Operating Systems or equivalent frameworks.
