We’re currently working with a well-established clinic based in Portsmouth, Hampshire, that is seeking a Deputy Head Veterinary Nurse to Support the team.
The practice
You’ll get to work in a spacious veterinary practice with the most fantastic facilities, with a team consisting of 3 fabulous vets, 4 dedicated Veterinary nurses and an inspiring customer service team, who are all passionate about providing the very best care to all animals, day and night.
The clinic is constantly working on new initiatives to support skill gaps and they make sure CPD is continuous and happening across all levels in their surgery.
The role
This is a fantastic opportunity for a customer-focused RVN to join the team.
This role assists the Head Nurse in driving the efficiency, effectiveness, governance and continuous improvement of the clinical activities within the surgery. The ideal candidate will be a team player – keen to get stuck in and support their colleagues. You’ll have excellent communication skills and thrive on a varied caseload! The clinic is big on continuous learning and are looking for someone who wants to take full advantage of the fabulous professional development opportunities they have to offer.
The full time Nurses typically work a 4-day week, to support a healthy work-life balance. Each shift is 9 hours long and includes a mix of consulting, inpatient and surgical duties across the week.
The weekend rota follows a 1-in-4 pattern.

In return the practice is offering a competitive salary ranging from £29000-£34000
