About the Role
East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service has an opportunity for a motivated and suitably qualified individual to lead and manage the Service's Health and Safety function, a key part of the Service Risk Reduction Directorate.
The successful candidate will contribute to fulfilling the Service's statutory duties and help keep staff and communities safer.
As the manager of the Health and Safety team, you will be a key part of the Service's Risk Reduction team, contributing to identifying and reducing risks within and beyond traditional health and safety areas.
You will oversee and manage all aspects of our health and safety management system and report directly to the Assistant Director of Risk Reduction. You will collaborate with other Health & Safety Managers regionally and nationally, and work closely with Representative Bodies to ensure legal compliance.
You will attend relevant meetings to provide data and input on performance and risk, and produce reports for oversight and compliance.

You will need a full UK Driver's License (use of a car provided). A standard DBS check is required and will be funded by ESFRS for the successful candidate. The start date is as soon as possible after the offer, but before 1 October 2025.
Additional Information
Your starting salary will be pro-rata if the position is part-time or term-time only.
