Job Description:
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing sales, events, and team performance. You ll be involved in day-to-day operations, lead hiring and training, and foster a positive, high-performing team culture.
Responsibilities:
* Create remarkable experiences for our colleagues and guests
* Develop and manage group market segments; actively solicit new business and build lasting client relationships
* Serve as the primary point of contact for clients from inquiry through post-event follow-up
* Oversee all aspects of events including planning, setup, catering coordination, and room blocks
* Forecast group business needs and ensure alignment with overall hotel occupancy goals
* Collaborate with department leaders to deliver seamless, successful events
* Lead, coach, and support the Sales and Catering Coordinator and Banquet team including hiring, onboarding, and training
* Establish and maintain a positive team culture through proactive HR practices, employee development and communication
* Build strong relationships with vendors, partners, and the community to enhance event offerings
* Maintain exceptional service standards by addressing guest feedback and resolving concerns
* Review employee schedules, purchase requests, and orders to ensure responsible financial management
* Develop and maintain department training materials and operating procedures
* Respond to guest reviews on TripAdvisor and Google
* Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
* High school diploma or equivalent required; at least three years of sales and/or catering experience and one year of managerial experience
* Excellent spoken and written communication skills
* Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in MS Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
* Strong time management, scheduling, and organizational abilities
* Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well with a variety of personalities and under pressure
