Bridge House School is a specialist SEMH provision for pupils with significant and complex needs. We are seeking a committed, resilient, and experienced SENDCo to lead our SEND strategy and coordinate provision for medical needs and children in care. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people who need it most.
Your Role:
As our SENDCo, you will:
* Be the strategic lead for SEND across the school, ensuring high-quality, personalised provision for all pupils with EHCPs
* Oversee and coordinate the identification, planning, delivery and review of SEND support and interventions
* Act as the Designated Teacher for Children in Care, ensuring high aspirations, emotional support and excellent outcomes for looked-after pupils
* Lead the school’s provision for medical needs, including Individual Healthcare Plans and liaison with health professionals
* Work closely with families, staff and multi-agency teams to secure wraparound support
* Provide CPD and coaching to staff to develop inclusive, trauma-informed practice
What We’re Looking For:
* A qualified teacher with the National Award for SEND Coordination (NASENCO) (or already working towards it)
* Significant experience working with children with SEND, preferably in a specialist or alternative setting
* A deep understanding of the SEND Code of Practice, EHCP processes, and inclusive pedagogy
Knowledge of SEMH needs, trauma-informed approaches, and barriers faced by care-experienced children
* Experience supporting pupils with medical needs and developing Individual Healthcare Plans (IHPs)
* A strong communicator who is empathetic, organised, solution-focused, and passionate about inclusion
