As our Stock and Systems Manager you will play a pivotal role to further develop the successful relationship between GXO and our customer Heinz (based in Wigan WN50LR), by enhancing the service offering across a dual site operation. An integral player in the wider senior management team reporting directly into the Planning Operations Manager where culture, well‑being and operational excellence are paramount. This is a full‑time, permanent opportunity with contracted hours of 40 per week. Core hours are Monday to Friday 08:00 am to 16:00 pm (but for business needs, we require full flexibility for any 5 days out of 7).

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £38,026.00 per annum, and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). Your benefits package includes a company‑sponsored pension scheme, life assurance and access to our benefits platform, including retail discounts.
What you’ll do on a typical day:
* Lead and manage a team of 17 colleagues across stocks and systems, operating across two sites and supporting both repack and warehouse operations
* Ensure inventory accuracy and stock integrity through effective management of perpetual inventory, cyclical counts, stocktakes, and WMS platforms (SAP, EWM, Manhattan)
* Drive system performance and data‑led decision making through reporting, analytics, forecasting, and maintaining system housekeeping, including managing downtime and operational disruption
* Oversee compliance and quality standards, including HACCP, SOIL accreditation, sampling processes, and full stock traceability across site and network operations
* Manage operational efficiency and customer service through stock flow optimisation, automation outage management, cross‑site coordination, continuous improvement initiatives, and regular customer reporting and engagement
What you need to succeed at GXO:
* Proven experience in a similar role, with strong leadership, team‑building, and motivational skills to drive high performance
* Excellent communication and influencing ability, engaging with stakeholders at all levels in an open and transparent manner
* Demonstrated commitment to change management, with the flexibility and enthusiasm to positively influence site culture
* Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and drive informed decision‑making
* Experience with WMS systems (SAP Globe and Manhattan are highly advantageous)
