Responsibilities
1. Investigate complaints and possible breaches of planning regulations
2. Carry out site inspections, visits, observations, and interviews
3. Maintain accurate records and evidence from investigations
4. Advise residents, developers, and businesses on planning enforcement procedures
5. Monitor planning conditions and work with developers to resolve issues
6. Draft enforcement notices and related documentation
7. Prepare reports and provide evidence at hearings, inquiries, and court proceedings
8. Work with other council departments on joint investigations
9. Assist with responding to FOI and EIR requests
10. Support the wider Development Control Team when required

11. Strong communication and organisational skills
12. Ability to manage investigations and maintain accurate records
13. Confident dealing with members of the public, developers, and legal teams
14. Knowledge or experience in planning enforcement or development control is desirable
15. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
16. Good IT skills and willingness to use technology to improve services
