Owens Group is a fast-developing, multisite organization with a large and diverse customer base, making this an exciting opportunity.
We are looking to recruit a Night Transport Planner.
Schedule: 4 on 4 off nights - 6pm to 6am
The role involves responsibility for traffic planning, route scheduling, and ensuring timely deliveries to provide excellent customer service in a cost-effective manner.
Responsibilities and Duties:
* Carry out tasks independently to meet cost and quality standards.
* Plan ahead, liaise with customers, resolve issues.
* Analyze and distribute information/data.
* Provide professional advice internally and externally.
* Develop relationships with customers.
* Ensure support services are in place.
* Prioritize and coordinate workloads.
* Complete tasks on time and to standard.
* Maintain customer satisfaction and work within budgets.
* Build effective working relationships with customers and partners.
* Deliver timely advice and demonstrate competence.
Specific Key Accountabilities:
* Coordinate with customers, suppliers, drivers, and traffic desks for route planning and scheduling.
* Prioritize workload, conduct driver briefings and de-briefings.
* Communicate with other depots.
* Monitor driver performance and compliance.
* Plan routes and schedules, manage loads.
* Reduce late deliveries and missed slots proactively.
* Work flexibly and make quick decisions.
* Communicate effectively at all levels.
* Maintain and utilize computer systems like Stirling and Excel.
* Ensure compliance with transport regulations and maintain good geographical knowledge.
* Monitor driver safety and compliance, promote SAFED initiatives.
* Ensure vehicle and trailer availability for compliance and inspections.
* Support management as needed.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Experience at a similar level preferred.
* Job-specific qualifications advantageous.
* Experience in Traffic Management, VOSA Compliance, problem-solving, and working independently.
Skills:
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Good geographical knowledge.
* Team player with a flexible attitude.
