Manufacturing Engineer – Tallington
The Manufacturing Engineer will support the development, optimisation, and continuous improvement of Cubis Systems’ manufacturing processes at the Tallington site. The role combines hands‑on process engineering with design responsibilities, contributing to new product development, tooling design, production layouts, and the introduction of new manufacturing technologies.
Responsibilities
* Manage cross‑functional improvement projects, equipment installations, and site upgrades, ensuring delivery on time, on budget, and to required safety and quality standards.
* Carry out time studies, develop standard work, and update ERP data to improve manufacturing accuracy, planning, and efficiency.
* Maintain accurate BOMs, routings, labour times, and manufacturing data to support effective planning, costing, and production control.
* Identify opportunities to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve operational performance across the site.
* Promote Lean methodologies with the Lean Specialist, supporting 5S, CI events, and waste‑reduction activities.
* Use Gantt charts and gateway reviews to control project progress and oversee contractors to ensure compliance with safety and technical requirements.
* Produce Capital Expenditure proposals with supporting justification and track progress through approval and implementation.
* Support new product introductions and engineering projects through trials, validation, troubleshooting, and process documentation.
* Provide practical shop‑floor design assistance, including CAD updates, tooling/fixture design, and production issue resolution.
* Support all engineering related activities as required.
* Provision of works instructions, training material, etc. as per all new or modified processes.
* Process troubleshooting / development – ERP system and production.
* Other projects and initiatives as defined, including CRH‑based projects.
Experience and Qualifications
* Canditate must be educated to HNC/HND level, or equivalent, in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience (Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineering).
* In‑depth experience within a manufacturing/industrial engineering role in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
* Proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks preferred).
* Experience in use of ERP systems.
* Experience in project management.
* High‑level IT skills including proficiency in the full MS Office suite, advanced Excel and ability to utilise digital communication tools such as email and intranets.
* Technically advanced with the ability to manage complexity, communicate effectively and work collaboratively.
* Competent in project management, technical documentation, engineering drawings, and process development.
* Knowledge of automation, robotics, and advanced manufacturing technologies.
* Knowledge of Value Stream Mapping is desirable.
