Puro Associates are pleased to be working with a well-established accountancy practice who are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join their team in Hereford. The practice provides a wide range of accounting services to clients in various industries and are looking for a bookkeeper who can manage a portfolio of clients with accuracy and attention to detail, using double entry bookkeeping.

Responsibilities as a Bookkeeper:
* Sales and purchase invoice entry
* Recording and reconciliation of bank/cash/credit card/paypal transactions
* Support with junior members of staff
* Assist clients with any bookkeeping related queries
* Liaise with HMRC as necessary to reconcile VAT/PAYE control accounts
* Posting month end journals such as payroll, depreciation, accruals and prepayments
* Preparation and submission of VAT returns including VAT schemes
Requirements of the Bookkeeper:
* A minimum of 3 years in practice, with a strong understanding of double entry bookkeeping principles
* Excellent knowledge of accounting software, such as Sage and Xero
* Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* A willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes
