About the Role
This full-time, term-time position is perfect for someone who is empathetic, proactive, and motivated to make a meaningful difference to the lives of children with SEN. Working closely with pupils and teaching staff, you will support personalised learning plans, promote positive behaviour, and help create an environment that supports each child’s unique needs.
Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with a range of SEN, including learning difficulties, autism, ADHD, physical disabilities, and other specific needs
Support pupils with their individual learning plans, helping them progress and overcome barriers
Assist with delivering SEN-focused activities and adapting classroom resources to ensure full accessibility
Encourage social interaction, emotional wellbeing, and positive behaviour
Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENCO, and external professionals to provide consistent support
Help maintain a calm, inclusive, and accessible learning environment
Keep accurate records of pupil progress and contribute to reviews and meetings
What We’re Looking For
Experience supporting children with SEN is highly desirable
A patient, calm, and compassionate approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Commitment to helping children achieve their personal best
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
SEN-related training or qualifications (desirable but not essential)
