The First Team Rehabilitation Therapist will be responsible for designing and delivering comprehensive rehabilitation programmes, guiding players from acute injury through to full return-to-play. You will work closely with the medical, performance, and coaching teams to optimise recovery timelines and ensure the highest standards of care.
This role requires strong clinical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
Tasks & Responsibilities
* Provide therapy services including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, and injury prevention/pre-activation for First Team players.
* Manage acute and chronic injuries through the creation and delivery of individualised rehabilitation plans.
* Utilise performance and medical data to monitor return-to-play progression.
* Deliver on-field reconditioning and readiness testing in collaboration with the performance team.
* Provide pitch-side medical support at training sessions and matches, home and away.
* Collaborate closely with coaching, sports science, and strength & conditioning staff to align rehabilitation and performance strategies.
* Support alignment with the Academy medical team, particularly for Academy players training or playing with the First Team.
* Educate players on injury prevention, body mechanics, and physical maintenance.
* Maintain accurate and compliant medical documentation and player records.
* Stay up to date with the latest research and best practice in sports rehabilitation.
* Mentor and support other therapists and medical staff within the department.
* Participate in CPD activities organised by the Club and other providers.
* Undertake any other tasks relevant to the whole-club ethos.

Qualifications
Essential:
* HCPC registered physiotherapist / Registered Sports Therapist
* FA Intermediate Trauma Medical Management in Football (ITMMiF) Certificate, or equivalent
Desirable:
* FA Advanced Trauma Medical Management in Football (ATMMiF) Certificate, or equivalent
* Completed or working towards a postgraduate qualification in a related field
* Child Protection / Safeguarding Certificate
* Experience of working in a full-time professional football environment
* Additional qualification in sports rehabilitation or strength & conditioning at masters level
* Proficiency in IT systems including Excel and Catapult AMS or equivalent
