Your Role
Required for a September 2026 start. Two enthusiastic and committed people will become part of the Hearing and Vision Specialist Service, part of Stockport Council Children’s Education Services, providing one‑to‑one inclusive support for children and young people who have vision impairment in educational settings. The appointed staff will work within a supportive and friendly team under the guidance of the Head of Service/Team Leader and Qualified Specialist Teachers of Vision Impairment.
About You
Applications from candidates with no experience of vision impairment are welcomed, however candidates must be able to clearly demonstrate a keen aspiration to work specifically with children and young people who have vision impairment. Some basic background knowledge, if not experience, is also desirable. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Further professional development opportunities, guidance and necessary training will be provided, especially if the successful candidate does not yet have experience in this specialist area of education.
