Agam Bermuda ISAC Limited is an Incorporated Segregate Accounts Company based out of Bermuda providing management expertise to existing and future Incorporated Segregated Account entities transacting in the life re-insurance space.
This role is a senior leader responsible for managing the company's key technical risk functions, including asset‑liability management (ALM), investment risk, enterprise risk and capital management. This role ensures the integration of all major risk disciplines, provides robust second‑line oversight, and supports the CRO in managing the company's overall risk profile.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
ALM & Investment Risk
* Develop and manage the strategic and tactical ALM framework to optimize the firm's risk‑adjusted return on capital.
* Provide second‑line‑of‑defence oversight of the investment portfolio managed by third‑party asset managers, monitoring credit, duration, and liquidity risk against established limits.
* Lead the risk‑based due diligence and ongoing monitoring of external asset managers.
* Produce and present detailed ALM and investment risk reports for the CRO and risk committees.
* Work closely with the Actuarial and Finance teams to ensure a cohesive approach to balance sheet management.
Enterprise & Operational Risk
* Manage and maintain the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework, policies, and procedures.
* Lead the operational risk management program, including the Risk & Control Self‑Assessment (RCSA) process and third‑party risk management.
* Aggregate risk information from across the business to produce comprehensive risk reports for management and the Board, including maintaining the company's risk register.
* Facilitate the process for identifying and assessing emerging risks that could impact the company's strategy.
Capital Management
* Own and manage the internal economic capital model used for day‑to‑day risk management and the annual CISSA filing.
* Oversee the model's development, validation, and documentation to ensure it remains fit for purpose.
* Run the model to calculate the company's regulatory and economic capital position, performing stress and scenario testing to understand key drivers of capital volatility.
* Provide insights from capital model results to support strategic decision‑making.
INDIVIDUAL EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & SKILL SET
Skills / Attributes Required
* 10+ years of progressive experience in risk management within the life and annuity insurance/reinsurance industry.
* Deep expertise across at least two of the three core areas: ALM, enterprise risk management or capital modeling.
* Professional designation such as FSA, FIA, CERA or PRMIA is required.
* Intricate understanding of the Bermuda regulatory regime and the BSCR framework.
* Strong technical expertise with actuarial/capital modeling platforms and ALM systems.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage a diverse team of technical experts and present complex topics to senior management.
