Police Community Support Officer (PCSO)
Location

Contract & Hours
Contract: Permanent. Hours: Full time (37hrs per week) on a shift-based pattern.
Salary
Starting salary: £27,204 to £29,859 per annum, plus additional shift allowance and weekend enhancement payments of around a further £4,800 per annum.
Start Dates
Start dates for new applicants will be approximately Summer 2026.

Eligibility (Tattoos)
If you have tattoos that may be visible while wearing uniform (for example on your hands, arms, face, or neck), you will be asked to upload photographs of them as part of your application. Our Recruitment Team will review these in line with our tattoo and standards of dress policy to ensure they meet professional requirements.
Qualifications
* Educated to QCF Level 2 (GCSE at grade A–C/9–4 or equivalent) in both English and Mathematics, or have relevant work experience at an equivalent level.
* May also need to study towards English and/or Maths qualifications with support from the Learning and Development Standards Unit.
* Full manual diving licence (desirable only).
* Confidence with basic office IT skills.
Salary and Other Benefits
In addition to the starting salary, you could earn around £4,800 per year in weekend enhancements and shift allowances (depending on your shift pattern). You will have 24 days of annual leave holiday per year. Hampshire Constabulary’s other benefits are extensive:

Training & Development
As part of your first 12 months as a PCSO, you’ll gain a Level 4 Diploma in Community Policing Practice, a nationally recognised qualification that builds your skills and sets you up for a rewarding career.
