Service: Health and Social Care Partnership
Closing Date: Thursday 4th June 2026
We encourage applications from Social Workers to join our friendly team in Campbeltown, Kintyre Peninsula. You will be a respected member of the Adult Care Social Work Team where integrated working with NHS Highland is a core value. You will collaborate with local authority and NHS colleagues in a multidisciplinary community setting.
The post is based at Campbeltown Hospital and involves travel around Kintyre, including Gigha and occasionally Islay. You will work with service users and their families in Campbeltown and remote villages. Core activities include assessment, case management, participation in a duty rota, and attendance at multi‑disciplinary meetings.
Key responsibilities also cover partnership work with Allied Health Professionals, nurses, and community hospital staff. The role is primarily with older adults but also involves work with younger adults and may include Adult Support & Protection tasks.
You will need strong interpersonal skills, the ability to build relationships, work rapidly under pressure, and meet deadlines. Confidence in liaising with a range of agencies – including the third sector and private providers – is essential. You will advocate for service users and carers and exercise independent judgement, prioritising workload while remaining flexible.
You must be registered as a Social Worker with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) and uphold SSSC professional standards. Ongoing education and training throughout your career is required. A valid clean driving licence is desirable due to travel demands.
The Council offers a competitive salary, pension scheme, generous leave entitlement, cycle‑to‑work scheme, gym and leisure centre discounts, wellbeing initiatives, and continuous learning and career development opportunities. A modern approach to work is adopted, with a flexible first approach to employees’ requests on how they work.
We encourage applications from people from all backgrounds and aim to build a workforce that reflects the wider society we serve. The Council champions diversity, inclusion and wellbeing and strives to create a workplace where everyone feels valued and has a sense of belonging.
