Transport Supervisor (Nights) role at Menzies Distribution Solutions Ltd
Menzies Distribution Solutions are looking for an experienced Transport Supervisor to join our team based in Broxbourne. As a Transport Supervisor, you will be responsible for the execution of transport plans ensuring transport and network SLA's/KPI's are achieved, developing and building efficient routes whilst maximising vehicle capacity, ensuring all work is distributed whilst complying with Transport Legislation, Health & Safety and customer service requirements. You will also ensure that the customer's products are delivered on time and in full using the most cost‑effective means possible, and best use of available resources including maximising the utilisation of Menzies Drivers in line with current driver hours and WTD legislation.

* Shift Pattern: 5 On/3 Off Nights
* Hours: 18:00-03:45 / 21:00-06:45

Key Responsibilities
* Ensure Site Planners plan all relevant customer deliveries utilising the software available at site to ensure delivery windows are met.
* Liaise with the Customer as required in relation to delays and possible issues with delivery.
* Develop back haul lanes with both Menzies depots and 3rd party customers whilst maintaining fleet utilisation.
* Co‑ordinate a late load report in line with operational requirements and deadlines.
* Ensure your drivers are compliant with the Working Time Directive and regularly download Driver cards for analysis.
* Ensure the Site Planners comply with all Transport legislation reducing tachograph infringements below the company target and adhering to WTD regulations.
* Communicate routes to and liaise with other Menzies Depots.
* Source local agency drivers and sub‑contractors as and when required (in conjunction with our PSL), providing an accurate brief of the job required.
* Ensure Site Planners understand loads meet safety standards and use the most efficient start times.
* Pre‑brief and de‑brief drivers, ensuring their instructions and documentation are understood and completed correctly.
* Record trailer information on all inbound/outbound deliveries and stand trailers.
* Fully understand and communicate agreed KPI's for the Department.
* All other transport office‑related duties.
* From time to time, deputise for the Manager on daily plan/do/review calls.
* Liaise with and provide feedback to driver agencies for ad‑hoc and peak driver support.
Requirements
* People Management Experience.
* Customer Service Experience.
* Experience of working in a busy Transport office.
* Knowledge of Drivers Hours, Tachograph and WTD legislation.
* Knowledge of Continuous Improvement.
* Good standard of education.
* IT literate.
* Knowledge of Health & Safety.
* Knowledge of transport systems.
