Role of the Department We are responsible for managing, leading, and assuring the environmental appraisals and assessments of designs, on the projects we are contracted to. We embed our clients' technical requirements within the designs and environmental deliverables. We provide environmental solutions through the development of low-carbon, climate-resilient, cost-effective designs, in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. We ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
We work with the environmental division within TYPSA to develop and implement internal strategies and policies. We support the UK and Ireland business development in preparing bid documents and fee proposals.
Responsibilities
Manage or lead in the delivery of some of the environmental workstreams.
Work on Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) or design development
Work independently and within project teams to lead on improving better environmental outcomes for the projects
Project manage and author environmental assessments and coordinating with SME’s for specialist input into assessments
Provide technical solutions to clients on infrastructure or construction projects
Embedding environmental and sustainability requirements on projects
Provide support in the development of the business including fee proposals preparation and bid documents
Responsible for ensuring environmental compliance in line with client’s standards, requirements, and policies.
Interface with clients for environmental coordination, resolving queries and issues.
Candidate The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
A bachelor's or master's degree in any of the environmental disciplines
4+ years (Senior) / 7+ years (Principal) of experience within EIA teams or environment design teams, delivering infrastructure or construction projects, ideally within consultancies or on the contractor/ client side
Experience of working on DCO’s, consents and permits.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to write technical reports.
Experience of working on infrastructure projects/ construction projects
Knowledge of EU and UK environmental legislation and current best practice guidance.
Decision-making ability to gather and synthesise information, identify options, and apply judgment based on logic and reason.
Problem-solving ability to identify complex problems, review, analyse, and interpret a wide range of information, and evaluate options with the ability to implement solutions.
