Reed are working with a College in Coventry and are seeking an Additional Learning Support Coordinator to join the Learning Services department on a temporary basis. This role is crucial for coordinating a team of learning support practitioners to ensure that students receive high-quality support tailored to their individual needs. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out initial assessments, overseeing the production of personalised Support Plans, and ensuring compliance with EHCP requirements.
Day-to-day of the role:
1. Work within a priority system to timetable Learning Support Practitioners (LSPs) to students across an allocated curriculum area according to need.
2. Liaise with teachers and managers to ensure that key information is shared regarding optimum teaching and learning strategies.
3. Contribute to the observations of Learning Support Practitioners to support their professional development.
4. Work with the ALS Manager to promote a culture of developing student skills with assistive technology as a normal way of working and for their exam access arrangements.
5. Ensure the quality and appropriateness of support for learners as per their Support Plan.
6. Ensure accurate tracking of all support-related matters on Pro Monitor so that the learner journey is clearly presented.
