Overview
The hourly rate for this role is £12.60 and up to £14.13 across selected locations within London. The hourly rate will increase after 6 months in role. No previous experience is required, and full training will be provided.
As a Trainee Dispenser working within one of our stores, you will be a key member of our pharmacy team as you support the pharmacist and other healthcare professionals in your store to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of pharmacy and healthcare services. You will work within the healthcare department of the store while you complete your Dispenser training (NVQ2), building relationships with patients by listening and understanding their needs. From greeting customers and dispensing prescriptions to ensuring the safe sale of medicines and providing advice to support patients in making informed health decisions, you will have the opportunity to make a difference every day.
This role is based in-store within the UK. Remote applicants will not be considered and applications from candidates outside the UK will not be progressed unless relevant UK qualifications and right to work can be confirmed and evidenced.
Responsibilities
* Complete your training for the Pharmacy Advisor NVQ2 programme
* Dispense prescriptions while ensuring the safe supply of medicines (e.g., ordering medicines, labelling, dispensing, endorsing, and collection of prescriptions)
* Work with other healthcare professionals in your store to assist in the management and delivery of pharmacy services
* Provide care and advice to patients about medicines and refer queries to the Pharmacist as appropriate
* Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to support the safe and legal dispensing of prescriptions
* Keep up to date with new innovations in-store and comply with operational processes
* Support patients to manage their prescriptions in their preferred way with reliable repeats and by promoting medication adherence to reduce waste
You will have the opportunity to work with evolving technologies within store, which helps to develop traditional dispensing processes to improve patient safety and free up time to spend with patients. Regular updates and training will develop your healthcare knowledge, with career development options including the opportunity to train as a Pharmacy Technician or as part of the store leadership team.
What you’ll need to have
* Desire to learn and complete the Dispenser training programme (NVQ2)
* Current and valid UK right to work. This role is not eligible for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker Visa.
