Overview
The Care Worker role at Housing 21 is a 26‑hour per week position (full‑time equivalent 35 hours). You will work within residents' independent apartments and supportive facilities such as communal lounges, gardens, cafés, and hair salons. The role offers hourly pay of £13.48 (full‑time equivalent £24,601 per annum) and a range of benefits.
Responsibilities
* Support residents with household tasks such as laundry, shopping, cleaning, and financial transactions (e.g., paying bills).
* Prepare meals, drinks, and snacks when required.
* Encourage and enable residents to follow agreed care plans.
* Assist residents with morning and evening routines, including personal care (washing, bathing, dressing) and medication management.
* Maintain resident well‑being, providing a friendly and supportive presence throughout their day.
* Keep managers and key agencies informed of resident progress.
Qualifications
* Kind, friendly, and patient.
* Good written and verbal English communication skills.
* Commitment to undertake necessary further training.
* Genuine desire to help people.
* Reliability and flexibility.
* Initiative and ability to remain calm under pressure.
* No prior experience or qualifications required; training and recognised qualifications will be provided.
