This position is 100% onsite at our Bohemia, NY office.
The hourly range for this position is between $26/hr and $32/hr and will depend upon experience.
This position requires a U.S Person or a person who can qualify for a Department of State or Department of Commerce License.
Position Summary:
Data Device Corporation is currently seeking an IT Desktop Support Technician to join their growing Information Systems team. This hands-on position focuses on end-user support, hardware/software troubleshooting, and workstation deployment, with opportunities to assist in server maintenance and infrastructure tasks. This position requires a strong customer service mindset, and a desire to grow their technical expertise across both desktop and back-end systems.
Key Position Accountabilities:
* Build, configure, and image Windows-based desktops and laptops for internal use.
* Install, replace, and set up new hardware (desktops, laptops, peripherals, printers, etc.).
* Maintain and track inventory of IT assets including PCs, monitors, and accessories.
* Respond to support tickets related to hardware, software, and peripheral issues.
* Troubleshoot Microsoft Office, Windows OS, email clients, and basic networking issues.
* Support new hire onboarding by provisioning equipment and assisting with account setup.
* Collaborate with the IT team on larger projects such as office moves, network upgrades, or device rollouts.
* Maintain documentation for processes, device configurations, and recurring issues.
* Optionally assist with basic server maintenance tasks, including patching and account management.
Qualifications:
Required:
* 2–4 years of professional experience in desktop or IT support.
* Proficiency in Windows 10/11, basic networking, and common productivity tools.
* Experience with imaging tools (e.g., MDT, SCCM, Clonezilla, etc.).
* Solid understanding of PC hardware and troubleshooting techniques.
* Strong communication and customer service skills.
* Ability to lift up to 40 lbs (equipment handling).
Nice to Have:
* Exposure to Windows Server, or M365 Admin Center.
* Familiarity with scripting (PowerShell, batch files) or automation tools.
* IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified).
Desired Characteristics:
* Customer Service Orientation: Ability to communicate clearly, patiently, and helpfully with non-technical users is critical.
* Technical Troubleshooting Skills: Must be comfortable resolving a variety of technical issues—from hardware and software problems to basic networking and Microsoft Office-related concerns.
* Initiative and Willingness to Learn: Should be curious, proactive, and eager to expand technical knowledge beyond desktop support.
* Team Collaboration: Ability to follow direction and work well with others, especially on larger projects such as office moves and hardware/software rollouts.
* Organizational Skills & Attention to Detail: Capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining accuracy and thoroughness.
* Adaptability & Flexibility: Able to shift priorities quickly and remain effective in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
