Igne is looking to recruit a skilled and motivated Mechanic / Plant Fitter to join our team in the GI Scotland Division a permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a forward-thinking and expanding geotechnical contractor based in Glasgow.
As a Mechanic / Plant Fitter you will maintain and service Igne’s plant machinery to ensure optimal performance and operational efficiency. Plant includes rotary drilling rigs, sonic drilling rigs, cable percussion rigs and ancillary tracked support plant. Place of work will vary from workshop to being based on sites working within the Igne project team.

Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct routine maintenance and servicing of plant according to manufacturer guidelines.
* Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
* Perform repairs and replacements of faulty components as needed.
* Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment status.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
* Collaborate with the operations team to schedule maintenance activities and minimise downtime.
* Provide technical support and guidance to other team members as required.
Person Specification:
You will need to have extensive knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems with proven experience as a Plant Fitter, ideally with drilling rigs. A full UK driving licence is required, along with problem-solving capabilities and strong organisational skills.
Salary & Benefits:
In return we offer a very generous basic pay c£40,000 - £45,000 per annum, inconvenience allowance if you do have to work away from home and lots of opportunities for overtime, plus:
