Details:
This front-line position requires the delivery of effective caretaking, portering, security, cleaning, and maintenance support across the College site. The role is crucial to the efficient day-to-day operation of the College, ensuring all tasks are performed effectively and economically to avoid wastage.
The Site Assistant is crucial in maintaining a clean, tidy, and well-maintained College environment and its surrounding grounds. Under management direction, key responsibilities include performing routine internal and external maintenance tasks such as general grounds upkeep, and clearing of gullies and balconies.
The role will support the security, portering, and cleaning to ensure high operational standards. This role requires a commitment to site safety and hygiene, with all duties carried out in strict adherence to College policies and Health and Safety regulations. The role also includes providing cover for other staff as directed by the College.
To carry out all duties and responsibilities in accordance with all College Policies and procedures inclusive of Equal Opportunities, Safeguarding and Data Protection, core values, behaviours, maintenance of confidentiality and other relevant procedures
To be a proactive and effective team member working flexibly and efficiently toward the achievements of the department targets leading to the overall College strategic targets
Qualifications
* Level 2 qualification in English & Mathematics or willing to work towards within 12 months of being in post
* Level 2 Certificate in Cleaning Principles or willingness to work towards it.
* Stairlift and Evacuchair trainer to obtain within the first 6 months of the role
* First Aid Qualification
Experience
* Experience as Site Assistant
* Experience in site maintenance, including minor repairs within a busy organisation
* Experience of keeping and carrying out cleaning duties (incl. removing rubbish) from classrooms and/or offices, during busy periods
* Experience in H&S legislation such as COSHH / Asbestos management or willingness to attend appropriate training
