GP Training Programme Director – Expansion & Structured Learning SW
Fixed‑term contract until 31/10/2026. Four posts available: two TPDs covering Somerset, Devon, Cornwall; and two TPDs covering Bristol, Bath, New Forest and Swindon.
Overview
The GP Expansion & Structured Learning Training Programme Directors will design, implement and manage innovative training programmes for General Practitioners (GPs) in the South West. The role supports the School of Primary Care to expand GP training, enhance placement capacity, promote progression of GP registrars (GPRs) and support expansion of assessment processes.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide additional support to programmes requiring enhancement of TPD capacity.
* Design and develop a curriculum for Learning Programmes to support expansion that meets accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.
* Continuously evaluate and improve learning programmes for GPRs based on feedback and educational outcomes.
* Integrate instructional methodologies, including e‑learning modules, webinars, simulations and in‑person training sessions.
* Develop and source high-quality educational content and resources, ensuring the learning platform is user‑friendly and accessible.
* Support assessment processes, delivering reviews of an expanded number of GPRs, implementing assessment tools and strategies.
* Analyse assessment data to identify areas for improvement and report on programme outcomes to stakeholders and accreditation bodies.
