The salary scale above has been agreed as part of the NHS Agenda for Change pay award for 2025/2026 and will be implemented in August 2025 with arrears backdated to 1st April 2025 where applicable.

Job Overview

The successful applicants will be part of the ICT Service Desk providing support to users across a range of Aneurin Bevan University Health Board (ABUHB) sites.

This is a junior role supported by senior members of the team.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicants will take part in a varied range of activity such as fault resolution, service request fulfillment, installation, repair and maintenance of networked PCs, peripheral hardware, software and attachments to host systems.

The post holders should have a basic understanding of Windows desktops and good customer service skills.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Experience

Essential criteria


* Experience of ICT technical environment

Desirable criteria

* previous experience in a customer support/help desk role in a Windows desktop environment

Knowledge

Essential criteria

* Microsoft Desktop OS knowledge

Desirable criteria

* Have an understanding of IT and its role in a modern organisation
* Understanding of network environments
* Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory environment

Qualifications

Essential criteria

* A-Level or relevant experience
* ECDL Certificate or relevant experience
* Recognised IT qualification or relevant experience

Desirable criteria

* Microsoft technical qualification
