An exciting opportunity has arisen in South Lanarkshire Justice Social Work Services for three experienced Social Workers to join our new Justice MAPPA Team. This is a rare opportunity to be involved in a new, specialist team focusing on assessment and case management of MAPPA cases as well as delivery of the MF2C Programme across South Lanarkshire.
The Justice MAPPA Team will carry out assessments, including Court Reports; case management and intervention using MF2C and other programmes as appropriate for individuals subject to MAPPA and assessed as requiring this level of intervention. The successful applicants will be nominated for MF2C facilitator training and upon successful completion of this training will deliver this programme on a 1:1 and group work basis.
We are looking for skilled and motivated Social Workers with a minimum of two years recent experience in a Justice Social Work setting and knowledge of MAPPA processes. Experience of delivering MF2C or MFMC at case management or facilitator level is desirable. The successful candidate should be vetted for VISOR/MAPPS systems to promote public protection.
This post will interest experienced Justice Social Workers wishing to specialise in public protection. The role involves interventions and multi-agency collaboration with MAPPA partners, working with complex cases alongside Senior Practitioners and supported by a Team Leader.
The ideal candidate will hold a Social Work degree, have at least two years of justice services experience, and possess a good understanding of risk assessment and management within the MAPPA framework. Strong assessment, writing, and communication skills are essential, along with proficiency in electronic case recording systems. A commitment to proactive, non-judgemental work in the community to address risks and needs and promote safety is required.
The position requires SSSC registration. The successful applicant will need to undertake Non-Personal Police Vetting Level 2 to use ViSOR.
Hours: 35 hours and 17.5 hours posts available
