Responsibilities
* Practice and reinforce all site safety policies, guidelines and procedures
* Provide daily guidance and direction in EHS programs to all employees, contractors and supervisors to ensure a common and effective approach
* Manage key environmental programs, recordkeeping, reporting, and permitting (Air, Chemical Management, Wastewater, Noise, Stormwater, hot work, LO/TO, safe work permit, etc.)
* Lead and manage on-site EHS team members and contractors
* Participate in emergency response drills and critiques
* Support Corporate EHS initiatives through participation in the EHS council and sub-teams
* Conduct regular walk-throughs of all work areas to identify hazards, evaluate controls, recommend improvements, communicate with associates, and record appropriately
* Monitor industrial hygiene and ergonomic assessments
* Determine safety best practices and train individuals and teams
* Partner cross-functionally to accomplish all regulatory training and related activities for employees and contractors
* Lead and track incident investigations to identify root causes and drive corrective action to prevent re-occurrence
* Track and report EHS performance for the Midlothian site
* Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all safe work practices and equipment
* Manage required reporting to local, state, and federal regulatory agencies; interface with outside regulatory agencies and respond to inquiries with Site Director and Corporate EHS
* Organize and maintain Safety and Environmental records; manage and maintain the site OSHA 300 logs
* Facilitate transition to solid associate-led EHS systems and provide leadership to local Site Leadership, Champions, and Safety Committee
* Manage Workers Compensation processes with appropriate vendors to ensure effective communication, claims management, and quality care
* Prepare and manage the EHS budget as directed
* Perform additional duties as assigned

* Report all Health, Safety and Environmental accidents, incidents, and near misses promptly

Qualifications / Desired Skills
* Education and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Safety & Health, or related technical field
* Experience:
5-7 years of EHS experience within a chemical manufacturing facility; 3 years of leadership experience, including training and auditing for compliance
* Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
o Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to adapt quickly to changing business needs and priorities
o Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence and drive results
o Ability to work within a multi-functional, global organizational structure with robust interpersonal skills
o Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment
o Critical thinking and analytical abilities for assessments and opportunities
o Strong proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
