An exciting opportunity has become available for a Healthcare Assistant/therapy assistant to join our well-established specialist multi-disciplinary team providing prosthetic rehabilitation services to patients across Sussex with limb loss or difference. The role is based at the Sussex Rehabilitation Centre, Brighton General Hospital.

The role involves working as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide healthcare support under the supervision of registered staff to patients attending outpatient clinics at Sussex Rehabilitation Centre. Responsibilities include assisting in delivering interventions in clinics and home environments, treating and discharging patients, and reporting changes in patient status to senior staff. The role also includes providing administrative support.
Additional duties include delivering holistic care, such as pressure ulcer prevention advice, dementia awareness, observing nutrition and hydration, falls risk assessment, pain management, and infection control standards.
Under guidance, undertaking non-complex clinical procedures such as blood pressure monitoring, temperature, pulse, respiration rate, blood glucose testing, wound care, and other tasks according to training and competencies, with responsibility and accountability for delegated tasks.
Supporting patients to regain health and independence by collaborating with the Therapy Team, including assisting with exercise programs and activities of daily living (ADL).
