Position
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Programme Manager PMO & Efficiency within our Directorate of Transformation & Sustainability based at Ailsa Hospital. This post is offered on a permanent basis.
Hours
36 hours per week. Monday to Friday.
What you will do
* Leading and managing a range of discrete projects under the Programme Management Office (PMO) umbrella. Ensure standard project management methodologies are applied to projects under the PMO, maintain and monitor progress, and enable robust weekly and monthly reports to key organisational fora.
* Develop standardised reports on progress with exception highlighting on risks and obstacles. Maintain, develop and manage programmes, ensuring robust governance and control arrangements.
* Engage with Director Sponsors, Programme Groups, and project leads to ensure a robust project management approach to progress and deliver.
* Work closely with Finance colleagues to track progress, slippage and delivery of efficiency and transformation programmes.
* Test and challenge schemes with project leads, confirm savings values, and measure performance against quality-related KPIs for assurance purposes.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required
* Masters degree or equivalent demonstrable knowledge and experience in a relevant discipline.
* A qualification in programme management or demonstrable experience in this area and a track record in delivering strategic programmes across a significant range of services.
* Ability to demonstrate and communicate a practical and theoretical understanding of programme management tools and techniques.
* Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of the statutory framework and guidance for the NHS, and the Integration of Health and Social Care, including practical application at national, regional and local levels.
* Awareness of the policy framework for health and social care delivery and its interface with planning partners, particularly IJBs/Health and Social Care Partnerships.
* Recent experience of working in the NHS, public sector or relevant organisations in a role related to strategic service planning and development.
* Knowledge of practical application of software packages to support key result areas.
* Ability to draft and present papers, reports and related correspondence for the NHS Board and governance groups.
* Significant experience of working with Directors, Non-Executive Directors and senior managers.
* A pragmatic and flexible approach to problem solving.
* Developed awareness of political sensitivity of information and ability to think strategically and operationally.
* Highly developed interpersonal, communication and influencing skills (written and oral) and the ability to establish productive working relationships.
