Safe Haven Talent is proud to be recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced and passionate Registered Manager to lead a thriving 3-bed EBD (Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties) children’s home in Hatfield. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of an already successful service and continue shaping an environment where both young people and staff flourish. You will lead with compassion, integrity and a strong safeguarding focus, ensuring every child receives exceptional, trauma-informed, child-centred care that meets their individual needs. Supported by a dedicated multidisciplinary clinical team—including psychologists, therapists, behavioural specialists and educational professionals—you will have the tools and guidance to support both your team and the children effectively. As Registered Manager, you will: Provide dynamic leadership, ensuring the home delivers high-quality care, safeguarding and therapeutic support. Advocate for young people and staff, building a culture where safety, respect and aspiration are central. Oversee all operational functions, including care planning, compliance, staff supervision, training, team development and regulatory requirements. Drive continuous improvement across the home, maintaining Outstanding standards. Manage budgets, financial planning and resource allocation effectively. Develop your team through mentoring, coaching, and facilitating qualifications (including QCF Level 3). Ensure the home remains a warm, inclusive and resilient environment where young people feel safe, supported and valued. Requirements Applicants must meet the following criteria: Experience & Sector-Specific Requirements Must have management experience within a children’s residential setting. (Applications from adult services managers cannot be considered for regulatory reasons.) Minimum of 3 years’ experience working at Senior level or above within a similar children’s environment. Strong understanding of the needs of young people with EBD and trauma-related behaviours. Qualifications Level 3 or 4 in Children & Young People’s Workforce (or equivalent). Achieved or working towards the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (Children & Young People). Knowledge & Skills Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and regulation such as: The Children Act 1989 Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 Quality Standards Safeguarding procedures Basic financial management and budgeting skills are essential, including experience overseeing home budgets and cost allocation. Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills. Fully committed to delivering the best outcomes for children. Full UK driving licence. Ability to work flexibly, including participation in on-call rota.
