Case Administrator (Probation Service) – Chorley
Full‑time temporary contract (6 months, with possible extension). £12.71 per hour, Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week.
Our client, a reputable organisation supporting the Probation Service, is hiring a dedicated Case Administrator to join their team in Chorley. This role involves supporting community safety and offender management through effective administration and support.
Responsibilities
* Setting up and maintaining accurate offender and victim information on approved databases.
* Managing referrals and fostering relationships between offender management, victims, service providers, and external agencies to promote positive outcomes and reduce reoffending.
* Preparing, maintaining, and collating case records, files, and management information in line with standards.
* Handling communications via telephone, email, and paper, ensuring timely and appropriate responses.
* Providing cover for reception and telephone enquiries, delivering excellent customer service.
* Acting as a single point of contact within the team for specific areas of work.
* Dealing professionally and effectively with service users, including those in distress or displaying challenging behaviour, seeking support when needed.
* Making practical arrangements such as appointments and directions for Sentence Plan implementation.
* Performing other administrative duties as required.
Qualifications
* Strong administrative skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
* Resilience and empathy when engaging with service users in challenging situations.
* Organisational skills to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Additional Information
* This role requires HMPPS vetting, which may take approximately six weeks. Successful candidates will need to wait for clearance before starting.
* A thorough background check, including DBS, reference, and address verification, will be conducted.
