Partner - Employers Agent
Location: London
Hours: 35 hours per week
The role and responsibilities:
You will work closely with your group leader and from time-to-time with equity partners to help to implement strategic directives within your area of business and team. You will inspire, manage and lead junior colleagues including mentoring, developing and equipping them to achieve personal career development objectives and to successfully support project delivery.
You will be required to comply with our processes, procedures and management functions to support technical delivery in accordance with our regulatory, insurance and governance requirements. You will understand the importance of maintaining a high standard of service delivery while generating profit to the business.
What you’ll be doing:
* Focusing on business development, taking new Client Instructions.
* Working with Risk Management Group, you will lead on calfordseaden’s consultancy appointments including terms of business.
* Working with your line manager and other colleagues within the business, you will prepare and coordinate fee proposals for new opportunities.
* Identification of multi-disciplinary opportunities.
* Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders; including RP clients, local authority clients, private developers, other relevant stakeholders or potential sources of opportunity.
* Implementing strategic business development plans to support company growth targets as well as exploring opportunities and implementing strategies to seek to expand our existing client base.
* Attending industry events, conferences, and networking forums to raise the company’s profile and generate business opportunities.
* Working with the Bids and Business Development teams; prepare, review and submit fee proposal documents, bids and tender submissions.
* Delivering and coordinating pre-contract employer’s agent / client representative services, taking projects through design, planning and tender / contract negotiation stages.
* You will be able to provide strategic advice to clients on a technical level, including procurement strategy, programme, appropriate regulatory requirements, etc. You will be able to adequately communicate such advice within clear professional reports.
* You will demonstrate an ability to work with the Client, specialist consultants and design teams, legal advisors and development partners to produce contract documents.
* You will have a proven track record of acting as employer’s agent / client representative on project which range in scale and complexity, ensuring that the Scope contained within the appointment is delivered to the Client’s satisfaction.
* Within the role of Partner, you will be required to act as “Partner in Charge”, pro-actively managing a team of more junior colleagues in the delivery of projects, retaining responsibility for the success of the delivery of our services.
What you'll need:
Qualifications:
* You will be a professional member of RICS, CIOB or similar.
Knowledge:
* In-depth knowledge of construction processes, project management and tendering.
* Experience with pre-contract and post-contract employer’s agent / client representative multi-disciplinary services.
* Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and legal requirements.
Skills:
* Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
* Proven track record of successfully securing new business opportunities and managing pre-contract phases.
* Excellent organisational and time‑management skills.
* Self‑motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving capabilities.
* Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
* An ability to inspire and lead junior colleagues to support their career development.
