The main purpose of the Area Wealth Director role is to implement the Wealth strategy and achieve business objectives. To lead and build the HSBC customer-first culture by providing coaching, mentorship, technical expertise, and regulatory supervision to a team of Wealth Managers and Analysts.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Being accountable for the teams compliance, sales quality, and professional standards, acting as the first line of defense to deliver principled business standards in line with all regulatory requirements.
2. Influencing partners to maximize wealth opportunities, with customers being serviced by appropriate advisors in line with the banks strategy.
3. Managing performance, providing timely, specific corrective feedback to improve poor performance, and motivational feedback to recognize good performance; assessing strengths and development needs and planning development activities.
4. Delivering needs-based solutions, identifying opportunities, and supporting the delivery of holistic financial planning tailored to client needs.
5. Managing collaborators—developing and maintaining effective relationships with team members and external stakeholders.
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
1. You must be QCF Level 4 qualified with an appropriate qualification that allows advice-giving (FCA Activity 4).
2. Candidates must currently hold Competent Adviser Status (CAS) under onshore UK FCA jurisdiction at the point of role entry. If you are a Competent Supervisor, you must have previously held CAS within the last 5 years with an unbroken record of assessment and CPD.
3. Ability to demonstrate external market awareness to stay updated with market changes, ensuring effective conversations with team and clients.
4. Understanding of conduct risks and HSBC business standards to attain and maintain professional standards.
5. Expert knowledge in holistic financial planning and wealth products.
6. Ability to encourage others to value the customer and deliver high-quality service.
7. Understanding of the Wealth & Premier proposition in terms of service and products, ensuring principles are applied consistently when delivering solutions.
