Overview

Job title: Senior Manager Control Office. Employer: Lloyds Banking Group.

Locations: Leeds, Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Halifax, Manchester. Hours: Full-time. Working pattern: Hybrid (at least two days per week, or 40% of time, at an office site).

End Date: Thursday 09 October 2025

Salary: £83,411 - £98,130 per annum

Flexible Working Options: Hybrid working; flexibility in when hours are worked; Job Share.


Job Description

About this opportunity: You will join the Chief Controls Office, a core part of the Group COO, delivering an effective and robust control framework, providing assurance on the Group COO's control environment, and offering SME insights into remediation, ongoing compliance, and continuous improvement. The team is focused on transforming the GCOO’s control environment and enabling a culture of inclusivity and collaboration.


What you’ll be doing

* Analyse, investigate and evaluate the control environment to support robust risk management in alignment with the Group’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF).
* Lead a team of control management professionals who manage the design, optimisation, process mapping, assessment and monitoring of the control environment.
* Work closely with risk and control owner teams, acting as their go-to control management partner, collaborating across the lines of defence to meet shared objectives.
* Manage, monitor, and assess how well our controls work to ensure we meet risk appetite goals and provide fair outcomes for colleagues and customers.
* Support the development and implementation of the control strategy, ensuring clarity on how the control environment is designed and functions.
* Find ways to innovatively improve methods and control tools, and work with Platform teams to increase automation in controls.
* Lead timely reporting on control effectiveness by maintaining data quality (KCIs) and using data insights to spot issues and take action.
* Take the lead on handling issues and events and coordinate plans to fix high-priority actions and audit findings.


What you’ll need

* Extensive operational expertise in infrastructure, tooling, and engineering practices, with strong experience in public and private cloud solutions.
* Experience in data-driven control management with a track record of leading design, automation, and optimisation of controls.
* Ability to make well-informed and timely decisions, balance trade-offs, and problem-solve using diverse data sources.
* Collaborates with leaders to identify long-term strategic opportunities and challenges, prioritising actions to achieve objectives.
* Proficient in working with all other lines of defence and understanding their roles.
* Works with Platform teams to integrate technical control capabilities, ensuring controls are designed and automated from the start.
