HVAC Project Manager – Mechanical & Electrical Department, St Helens
This role is part of the CBES St Helens office. Suitable candidates should have a minimum of 8 years previous experience in a management role within an HVAC environment and will have strong organisational ability when the workload and demands are high. You should be positive, competent and personable, with good communication skills and attention to detail.
Qualifications or Equivalent Required:
* City & Guilds 6024 (Mechanical Engineering Services – Plumbing)
* NVQ Level 3 (Heating & Ventilation)
* F‑Gas (experience would be beneficial)
* Gas Safe (experience would be beneficial)

Duties and Responsibilities:
* Manage, develop and motivate a team of Mechanical Trades to effectively deliver HVAC project works throughout a defined region within agreed timescales and budgets whilst complying with company policy and procedure.
* Assist with the development of existing & new client portfolio to enable the expansion of the HVAC division within additional geographical regions.
* Undertake site surveys, preparation, and submission of quotes for project works as required in conjunction with surveying and procurement procedures.
* Deliver project works and asset/plant replacement/renewal schemes from survey to handover including programme delivery, labour planning, HSE plans/files, risk assessments, method statements, waste management responsibility and cost preparation.
* Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations, CBES HSE management systems, procedures, or instructions as they apply and to ensure all direct reports are adequately trained and follow safe systems of work.
* Liaise continuously with the Quantity Surveyor to ensure project revisions and expenditure are maintained within budget and in compliance with administrative procedures.
* Assist with providing quotations for works based on site surveys and client specific specification.
* Provide designs for smaller projects based on site surveys and client specific specification.
Key Performance Indicators:
* Submission of monthly operational report to the Mechanical & Electrical Operations Manager.
* Achieve and maintain 100% H&S and job‑related competence for the team of direct reports.
* Collate and maintain H&S documentation and project folders in line with Company Policy.
* Resolve site snagging issues within a maximum period of 6 days.
* Close out site health & safety non‑conformances within 5 working days.
* Manage labour costs within budget.
* Manage plant and vehicle costs within budget.
* Deliver forecasted project profit levels.
* Be experienced in using Microsoft Office in Excel, PowerPoint, and other programs.
* Manage subcontractors and in‑house engineers.
* Communicate at all times with management and the relevant clients.
Additional Information:
1. Working week: 40 hours, and dependent on the works, as we work quite a bit in retail.
2. Transport: Company car / car allowance / Cash for car salary sacrifice which is an electric car (No fuel card).
3. BUPA: Is part of the contract conditions also, although the individual does not need to take it.
4. Pension: Company pays 5%, the candidate can pay in what they wish to do so.
5. Bonus: Is 10% maximum, and is measured over 3 x elements: The company hits their targets / the division achieves their budgets / and the candidate performs as per the requirements for their role.
