Audit Manager, Manchester
About the Role
We're looking for an experienced audit professional to join our growing Public Sector Audit team. From your first day, you'll be supported to learn, develop, and make an impact. Key Responsibilities
* Lead Audits: Manage a portfolio of audits across local government, NHS, and central government clients, ensuring all work meets regulatory and quality standards.
* Deliver Quality: Oversee audit planning and execution, review deliverables, and ensure compliance with auditing standards, FRS 102, IFRS, and the Companies Act.
* Build Relationships: Act as a key contact for clients, responding to queries promptly and supporting effective communication and billing.
* Coach & Develop: Supervise and mentor assistant managers and seniors, providing feedback, reviewing work, and guiding fieldwork teams.
* Collaborate: Work closely with senior managers and partners to deliver efficient, insightful, and high-quality audits.
What You'll Bring
* Professional Qualification: ACA, ACCA, CA, or equivalent.
* Public Sector Experience: Previous audit experience with local authorities, NHS trusts, or other publicly funded organisations.
* Leadership Skills: Ability to lead multiple external audits, manage teams, and take responsibility for project delivery.
* Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, and auditing standards.
* Communication: Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
