An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our fantastic team within the Emergency Department in Forth Valley Royal Hospital, Larbert.
We are seeking applications from highly motivated individuals to apply for a Band 6 Deputy Charge nurse role. We hope to welcome you to our highly skilled and friendly team. We require significant Emergency Department experience, as this is predominantly a senior clinical role in a specialist area. The rapid turnover of patients requires you to effectively manage a caseload of patients with a variety of conditions. You must be able to prioritise and manage clinically unwell patients and facilitate safe admissions, discharges, and transfers. You should also be expert in looking after patients who are end of life, acutely unwell and deteriorating patients and patients with mental health and substance misuse issues. Experience of managing the acutely unwell, deteriorating patient is essential. You will be expected to be the lead nurse in our Resuscitation rooms-both Adult and Paediatrics. Experience of working with both patient groups is essential to this position. You will be expected to be the Nurse in Charge and Co-ordinate the department on both day and nightshifts.

You will be expected to have strong leadership skills and be able to take on the role of a team leader who is able to facilitate, support and manage staff on a regular basis. You must be a role model for compassionate care, advocating for patient safety and quality care and always acting with candour.
We have a particular passion for the training and development of our staff and students so you must have a commitment to mentoring, preceptoring and facilitation of development within the Emergency Department. You must also be open in terms of the development of your own skills. You will have good opportunities to take part in the multitude of training and development opportunities that the organisation and department offers.
You will be expected to work a flexible work pattern which includes days, nights, weekends, and public holiday rotation.
