Overview
We are looking for a warehouse team manager to join our Birtley depot. You will manage a sizeable team of warehouse operatives, ensuring all products are picked and packed safely and securely while fostering a high‑performance culture.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and coach a team of warehouse operatives to achieve weekly targets.
* Manage workflow to meet tight deadlines and critical performance measures.
* Develop positive relationships with internal business partners.
* Drive and maintain warehouse standards, procedures, and policies, especially health and safety.
* Analyse performance data to identify improvement opportunities.
* Plan and organise the delivery of your own and your team's workload.
* Support the team in meeting safety, reporting, and cost‑management responsibilities.
Qualifications
* Previous experience managing a sizeable team, preferably in a logistics or FMCG environment.
* Strong ability to work at pace and maintain accuracy.
* Track record of meeting or exceeding critical performance measures.
* In‑depth knowledge of warehouse policies and procedures.
* Excellent planning and organisational skills.
* Understanding of how service quality impacts stores and customers.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency with IT systems.
Compensation and Benefits
* Annual salary: £32,200 – £39,560 plus shift allowances.
* Back shift: 2 pm – 10 pm, 39 hours per week, full time, permanent.
* 7‑day working week with weekends included.
